Although environmental education in Australia is still in its infancy in terms of its reach, it is gaining momentum with centres such as the one in Brisbane's Toohey Forest.
Environmental education is an important component of education, as school aged children come to the Toohey Forest centre on a daily basis to extend their learning in very practical and hands-on (experiential) ways.
The main aim of TFEEC is to connect people and their natural world in meaningful and academic ways.
