Earth Day, 2018, challenges us to...
End Plastic Pollution
I am up for the challenge! I suspect it will not always be easy, but I know I will learn a lot along the way and as Robert Baden-Powell once said,
"Try and leave this world a little better than you found it, and when your turn comes to die, you can die happy in feeling that at any rate, you have not wasted your time but have done your best".
So, what does this challenge mean for me?
- document my journey for others to learn from
- collect plastic rubbish when I am out and about
- buy in bulk where possible
- buy plastic packaging free options if available
- say NO to plastic bags
- research where plastics are used, and how plastic impacts us and our environment
- lead by example, become a role model to show it is possible to reduce our dependence on plastic
As an ongoing project that will be added to over the next year, feel free to follow along, share and even make suggestions.
